Jack Conway is at it again

Dear Friend,

You were with me last year when we stood up for liberty, shocked the nation and defeated Jack Conway.

Today, I need your help again.

Our old friend Jack Conway is back at it…making false claims, pretending not to be the big-government liberal that he truly is – and falsely attacking my friend Todd P’Pool.

Todd P’Pool is a small-government conservative running against Jack Conway for Kentucky Attorney General. I met Todd during my campaign last year. He stuck his neck out for me and stood by my side when some others would not. That took courage, and I’ll never forget it.

Todd is a crime-fighting prosecutor who will help us dismantle Obamacare – the disastrous big-government health care scheme that Jack Conway helped pass and still supports. Todd will ensure Kentucky reports for duty in the fight against this ruinous law. His very first week in office, Todd will join the suit against Obamacare. I can’t think of a more important fight for our liberty and freedom.

More than two dozen states have filed suit against Obamacare’s unconstitutional individual mandate – but not Kentucky. We have to change that. His very first week in office, Todd will join the suit against Obamacare because Todd understands how vital this fight is to the future of our country.

Todd also understands the importance of holding Obama’s EPA accountable. Kentucky is feeling the full burden of President Obama and Lisa Jackson’s all-out assault on our farmers, energy producers and small businesses. As Attorney General, we can count on Todd to stand up to the EPA’s job-killing regulations that are devastating our economy.

How will he do it? Todd has announced that he will create a federalism unit as Attorney General to monitor the out-of-control federal government so Kentucky can push back when they overstep their Constitutional limits. Todd’s federalism unit will fulfill a vital mission – acting as a check on the limits of federal power over our freedom and liberty.

Todd is in a very tight race. In fact, even the liberal Louisville Courier-Journal said Todd was “within striking distance” and that he was the GOP’s best hope.

Clearly, liberals are worried. Let’s give them even more to be worried about.

Please join me in supporting Todd P’Pool today by making a secure, online contribution of $100.

We knocked down Jack Conway last year. It was a severe blow to President Obama and his liberal, partisan agenda. Now, we can knock Jack Conway out for good. With your help, Todd P’Pool will do it.

Sincerely,

Rand Paul
U.S. Senator

P.S. – Please send your most generous donation to Todd P’Pool today. Even if you cannot contribute $100, send $50 or $25 to help Todd defeat Jack Conway!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 24th, 2010

MADISONVILLE – The Todd P’Pool for Attorney General campaign announced today that former New York City Mayor and former Presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani will be campaigning for P’Pool on October 26th in Louisville.
Mayor Giuliani will join Todd P’Pool at a rally with supporters along with a press availability that will include police, firefighters, and law enforcement officials.

Who: Todd P’Pool, Rudy Giuliani, and supporters
Where: Crowne Plaza Hotel (Coronet Room) 830 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY
When: Wednesday, October 26th at 3:00 pm
What: Rally with Rudy Giuliani and P’Pool supporters
Why: Countdown to Victory!

“Mayor Giuliani a role model and textbook example of defined leadership,” said P’Pool. “At a time when Kentucky suffers from a lack of strong leadership – especially in the Attorney General’s office, it is an extreme honor to be joined in Kentucky by America’s Mayor.”

Mayor Giuliani brings a proven record as a crime fighter, having served as a highly successful prosecutor and later as US Attorney for the Southern District of New York. As mayor, he highlighted crime reduction and law enforcement. In the aftermath of the attack on the World Trade Center, Mayor Giuliani gained international recognition for his impeccable leadership in the wake of the worst attack on American soil.

“Mayor Giuliani has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with law enforcement throughout his entire public career,” said P’Pool “Kentucky needs an Attorney General that has the support of those on the front lines, which is why I’m proud to have the endorsement of the FOP.”

Mayor Giuliani is the latest in a string of high-profile Republicans to campaign for P’Pool including Governor Mike Huckabee, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.

P’Pool Commends Ruling on EPA; Conway on the Sidelines

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 10, 2011

MADISONVILLE – Today, Todd P’Pool applauded a recent U.S. District Court ruling that said that the US EPA’s more detailed mine permit reviews overstepped the agency’s Clean Water Act authority. P’Pool also called into question the judgment of Attorney General Jack Conway for being absent from the legal battle.

“Kentuckians are growing tired of the Obama administration’s unlawful obstruction of mine permits based solely on a radical political agenda,” said P’Pool. “Our Attorney General was nowhere to be found in this fight – he was on the sidelines right where President Obama wanted him to be.”

According to the Wall St. Journal, the dispute is one of several in which the mining industry has argued that more stringent environmental regulations are hampering the ability of coal companies to operate and maintain mining jobs. The judge has yet to hear arguments on the second part of the mining association’s lawsuit which involves the specific water-quality guidelines used by the EPA.

Attorney General Conway has been absent when it comes to protecting Kentuckians from a hostile EPA. In 2008, Conway signed and sent a letter to the Bush administration urging them not to roll back regulations that would be harmful to coal production. He has also favored President Obama’s proposed cap-and-trade plan, as has been reported by various media outlets.

P’Pool Receives Statewide Award for Child Support Enforcement
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 4th, 2010

MADISONVILLE – Today in a ceremony in Frankfort, Todd P’Pool received the Outstanding Performance Award for child support enforcement from the Cabinet for Families and Children.

“My mother was a single parent and I know firsthand the struggles of single parents in Kentucky,” said P’Pool. “Over half of our children in Kentucky are being raised by a single parent or by a grandparent. Collecting child support is an opportunity to get parents involved in their children’s life and make our families stronger. When that happens, Kentucky becomes a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”

P’Pool used the occasion to emphasize ways that child support collections in Kentucky could improve.

“We have over $1.4 billion in uncollected child support in Kentucky – it is an area we have to improve.”This is the third consecutive award P’Pool has received for outstanding performance in child support collections. P’Pool previously received the award in 2009 and in 2010.

“We live in the 21st century, but we have a system that is burdened by outmoded technology that is slowing us down and crippling our performance.”

“We’re currently still using a DOS-based computer system that needs to upgraded.”

“We currently cannot process any electronic payments, including debit or credit cards. Practically every other facet of America has this capacity.”

“I believe single parents should have real-time access to the status of their account online, which they currently cannot do. They should not have to call an 800 number and sit on hold to lean the status of their account.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 3rd, 2010

MADISONVILLE – Todd P’Pool, Republican for Attorney General, announced today that his campaign has received the full endorsement of the Louisville TEA Party.

In an email to their members, the Louisville TEA Party said:

“The Louisville TEA Party board unanimously agrees that P’Pool is the best alternative to help Kentucky out if its perennial stagnation and to vanquish its reputation as one of the worst run states in America.”

“Todd P’Pool is a true fiscal conservative, who supports the Louisville TEA Party’s mission of fiscally responsible policies, lower taxes, and Constitutionally limited government.”

“Having vetted all of the candidates, the Louisville TEA Party has found resoundingly that Todd P’Pool’s platform deals with the fundamental problems that career politicians have been unable or unwilling to address in Kentucky. His plan to take on an over reaching Federal Government on issues such as Healthcare and the EPA, and putting up a new fight on public corruption not only addresses the problems facing Kentucky but provides results based solutions to them.”

In recent weeks, P’Pool has picked up key endorsements such as the Fraternal Order of Police, Kentucky Right to Life, and Northern Kentucky Right to Life. P’Pool has also been joined on the campaign trail in recent weeks by surrogates from around the nation such as Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, and former Governor Mike Huckabee.

Oklahoma AG Scott Pruitt to Campaign for Todd P’Pool

Kentucky native glad to be back in state

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 29, 2011

MADISONVILLE – The Todd P’Pool for Attorney General campaign announced today another rising star in the Republican Party, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, will campaign with Todd P’Pool in Kentucky this September.

Attorney General Pruitt grew up in Lexington where he graduated high school and earned a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Kentucky before attending law school in Oklahoma.

Since taking office, Attorney General Pruitt has been an advocate in pushing back against the power and overreach of Washington.

Pruitt garnered national attention earlier this year when he filed suit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and their activist agenda to improperly shut down domestic energy sources such as clean-burning coal plants in Oklahoma. Pruitt’s lawsuit against the EPA seeks to prevent the agency from proceeding with their improper implementation of the Regional Haze rule in Oklahoma, which is estimated would increase the cost of energy to consumers as much as 16%.

Pruitt believes finding ways to expand the use of all available domestic energy sources such as natural gas and coal will be vital to the strength of America.

Pruitt is also committed to fighting unconstitutional laws such as the healthcare law passed in 2010, and has filed suit in an Oklahoma federal court to prevent this attempt of the federal government to force Americans to purchase insurance or face a fine.

“We are excited to have Attorney General Scott Pruitt join us on the campaign trail,” said P’Pool. “While Jack Conway won’t stand up and take on the overreach of Washington, Attorney General Pruitt has aggressively fought to preserve state’s abilities to self regulate and put Washington in check.”

Scott Pruitt is the latest in a series of leading Republicans to announce they will assist P’Pool this fall in his election against Democrat Jack Conway. Others include Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, former Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, and former UK basketball star Travis Ford.

MADISONVILLE – The Todd P’Pool for Attorney General campaign announced today that former Arkansas Governor, Presidential candidate, and FOX News commentator Mike Huckabee will come to Kentucky this October to campaign on behalf of Todd P’Pool for Attorney General.

Governor Huckabee will attend a fundraiser on October 1st at the home of former U.S. Ambassador Cathy Bailey. Since returning home to Kentucky in 2008 Ambassador Bailey has remained active in Republican politics and is focused on electing officials that will help move Kentucky forward.

In a statement Bailey said, “We need a watchdog in Frankfort that will serve as a guardian for the public’s interest. Todd P’Pool as Attorney General is that person. Kentucky will not move forward until we start electing officials like P’Pool whose dedication and strong work ethic will provide us with the right kind of leadership.”

“Governor Huckabee is one of the strongest advocates for conservatism in America today,” said P’Pool. “Our shared values of being pro-life, pro-family, and pro-Second Amendment are currently lacking in Kentucky because we have a Barack Obama enthusiast in the Attorney General’s office.”

Governor Huckabee joins another national conservative leader, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, in coming to Kentucky to campaign for Todd P’Pool.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 18, 2011

MADISONVILLE – The Todd P’Pool for Attorney General campaign announced today that former Secretary of State Trey Grayson and UK basketball star Travis Ford will team up to assist Todd P’Pool in his campaign for Attorney General this October.

Trey Grayson served as Kentucky Secretary of State from 2003 to 2011. Grayson said he is proud to be part of P’Pool’s team:

“Todd P’Pool is one of the most promising candidates Kentucky has seen in decades. I am excited that he understands that the Attorney General can have a greater role in protecting the future of Kentucky and the lives of its citizens. The Commonwealth deserves an Attorney General who is not only an accomplished prosecutor, but who will defend Kentucky’s priorities. This election is important for the future of Kentucky. That’s why I look forward to joining Coach Ford in supporting Todd’s campaign.”

Travis Ford is a native of Hopkins County Kentucky and went on to become a star at the University of Kentucky. Ford went on to a successful coaching career at Campbellsville University, Eastern Kentucky Universiry, and University of Massachusetts before landing his current job as head basketball coach at Oklahoma State.

“Having two great Kentuckians like Trey Grayson and Travis Ford join our campaign team is a tremendous honor,” said P’Pool. “Each and every day, this campaign is gaining momentum, and the strong support we are receiving from across this Commonwealth will carry us to victory in November.”

Grayson and Ford will team up to headline a fundraiser for P’Pool in Lexington on October 5th.
